Blaze

13yr old 15.3 QHx mare. Gorgeous, personable and athletic.  An absolute sweetheart, this girl is my main horse.  Blaze was predominantly a backyard trail horse until last summer, when I began to focus on jumping with her.  She is willing, smart and quickly becomes a favourite of everyone. Blaze is safe enough for beginner lessons but would be a fun ride for an intermediate/experienced rider wanting to explore trails and/or do ringwork.  She is hands down, the most popular horse at Follyfoot!  This summer, Blaze will be debuting in the 2'6" hunters/jumpers and will make an appearance on the cross country course.

Viejo

16.1 TB gelding.  This handsome fella was my main horse before I decided to focus on Blaze.  He is all TB in that when he has a consistent job to do, he excells.  I have done lower level eventing and jumpers with him.  He's not the most relaxing trail horse in that he can be jiggy on the way home but if you can put up with that, he's good on the actual trails!  Ideally, Viejo is suited to someone very experienced with the sensitive nature of Thoroughbreds.  With the right rider, he is a fantastic horse and while he is turning 22 on May 15/2009 he hasn't slowed down a bit in the eight years I have had him.  Viejo is suited for a confident rider wanting to do some jumping or dressage. This summer, after a lengthy absence from the showring, Viejo will be showing in the 2'6" hunters and jumpers and doing some dressage shows.

Mikey

12hh 5 year old Shetland/Pony of Americas gelding.  Mikey is an absolute superstar pony with a heart of gold. Mikey was here on a free lease but one of my students and her family loved him so much that they bought him.  Mikey is good on the trails and in the ring and has jumped up to 2'3" with room to go higher.  This brave and honest pony who loves to be cuddled is available for lessons for advanced beginners and up.

Mae

34 yr old 14.1 Arabian mare.  Mae was close to being put down as her owners were moving and hadn't had any luck in finding her a new home.  Arriving seriously underweight with full blown Cushings disease and teeth that can't chew, she is my toughest rehabilitation case to date.  However, the spirit this mare has serves as inspiration to many whom have been touched by her presence here and I persevered in trying to find the right combination of diet, turnout, supplements/medication and skin/coat/teeth care.  Thankfully, her health, weight and attitude have improved greatly and she thinks she's the cat's meow!!  Mae just loves to get out and about. Originally, I tried using Mae for beginner children however, she has proved to be too much for them!! While she is a fabulous trail horse for beginners and up she requires someone with a bit more ability and/or confidence in the ring as she has lots of pep.  At this point, Mae is pretty much a pasture pet and Follyfoot's matriarch! To read more of Mae's story and see more pictures please visit http://www.islandhorsesforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=28414

Daisy

13.2hh Welsh/Arab.  Daisy is a real sweetie to be around and was a school horse for the last couple of years at QMS before we were lucky enough to get her.  Great for beginners but requires someone with experience for jumping courses as she can get a little excited!  Daisy has done a fair bit of showing, both dressage and jumping and also loves the trails.  When spring arrives, we'll be introducing her to the cross country course.....we're positive she'll be very keen out there!

Lady

11 yr old TB/Appy.  Lady was primarily a barrel racer and gymkhana horse before she came to Follyfoot.  We have started her jumping and she is proving to be very talented with quite the scope!  Like Daisy, we're all looking forward to introducing her to cross country. Lady is excellent on trails, easy to be around and is suitable for advanced beginners and up.

Chewy

11 year old 15hh Paint gelding.  Chewy is a flashy and very versatile horse with western pleasure training, basic reining skills, team penning experience and has been started in jumping.  Chewy is a very cute mover, has his flying lead changes and loves the trails. He is solid and dependable and good for all levels of riders. Chewy was a superstar this past summer taking his young riders to shows and another rider took him cross country for his first time where he was a natural! She had so much fun out there with him that she bought him! Chewy continues to be loved by his other riders who still get to share him with his new owner.

 Maggie

5 year old 14.1hh WelshXPaint mare.  Maggie-kins is a very sweet and an in your pocket kind of pony.  She is one heck of a cute jumper and her young riders are learning a lot from her.  Under saddle, her young cheeky side can sometimes come out but she isn't an intimidating pony.  Maggie is best suited to advanced beginners and up. Maggie made her showing debut this summer and like Chewy, one of her riders loved her so much that she bought her.  Maggie was fantastic first time cross country and is definitely an event pony in the making.

Elmo

13.1hh MorganxWelsh (we think!) Elmo is one of our recent rescue/rehabilitation cases.  I was alerted to a pony in serious distress that was in danger of being put down if someone didn't step in.  What I found was a severely laminitic pony with abscessing feet that couldn't walk.  Proper trimming, appropriate diet and light exercise has helped Elmo on the road to recovery.  At the age of 19, Elmo has gaps in his training and while he is a hoot to be around, his mischievious nature under saddle makes him too much for beginner children at this time.  Everyone who knows him hopes that he will blossom into a pony that can teach children as he's just too darned cute to be a paddock potato!!  At this time, Elmo is available for experienced smaller (max 140lbs) riders to lease for trail riding.
